Manx Lullaby

Oh hush thee my dove,___ oh, hush thee my rowan,
Oh hush thee my lapwing my little brown bird.
Oh hush thee my dove,___ oh, hush thee my rowan,
Oh hush thee my lapwing my little brown bird.

Oh fold thy wings and seek thy nest now,
Oh shine the berry on the bright tree.
The bird is home from the mountain and valley.
Oh ho-ro hi ri ri Cadul gu lo.
Oh ho-ro hi ri ri Cadul gu lo.

Here is a video of another choir performing this song. Can you make your voice sound as smooth as their voices? Remember what we talked about how we need to make our mouths in the correct vowel shapes on "oh", "ooh" and "ah".

Happy practicing and keep on singing!

Remembrance Day Assembly

The Crestview Singers will be singing at the

Remembrance Day Assembly  in the gym on

Thursday, November 9 at 1:15pm.

They have been working hard at preparing

two songs, A Better World and The True North Strong

and Free. Choir students are encouraged to wear

something nice for this special performance. Please

keep in mind that they will be wearing their Crestview

shirt over whatever shirt they are wearing that day.

On Thursday at 12:20, the choir students are asked to

come down to the Music Room to put on their choir shirt

and run through the two pieces. Afterwards, they will go

out for the rest of the recess to get some fresh air.

They are sounding great and are excited to sing!

Remembrance Day Song: The True North, Strong and Free

The True North Strong and Free

We love our country, Canada; It’s our home from sea to sea:
From majestic Rocky mountains, fields of wheat and Maple trees,
To the Great Lakes of Ontario, they belong to you and me ________.
We’ll work together to protect the true north strong and free_______.

Let’s build it with love, Let’s build it with hope, with peace and harmony.
We’ll understand and lend a hand, a close-knit family.
Let’s build it with heart, Let’s build it with soul, With care and unity.
As we take a stand , please keep our land the true north, strong and free!

We love our country Canada with its vast diversity
From the friendly folk of the Maritimes, to the Haida of BC.
Ask the farmers of the Prairies, and Acadians agree:
We’ll work together, building up the true north, strong and free.

Let’s build it with love, Let’s build it with hope, with peace and harmony.
We’ll understand and lend a hand, a close-knit family.
Let’s build it with heart, Let’s build it with soul, With care and unity.

As we take a stand , please keep our land the true north, strong and free!

No Accompaniment at this time. Sorry.
