Remembrance Day Song 2: A Song of Peace

The Crestview Singers are learning A Song of Peace by Teresa Jennings for the Remembrance Day Service on November 10, 2022.

Click here to access a video you can sing along to.

If I could write a magic song

that ev’ryone could sing,

I would write of love, of hope and joy,

and things that peace could bring.

And when we sang my magic song,

all hate and war would cease.

If I could write a magic song,

I’d write a song of peace.

One song for all of us.

One song could bring us peace.

One song could make a miracle

for all of us.

A song of peace.

With just one song, one magic song

That ev’ryone could sing,

We could sing of love, of hope and joy,

And things that peace could bring.

And when we sang our magic song,

All hate and war would cease.

With just one song, one magic song,

The world could fill with peace.

One song for all of us.

One song could bring us peace.

One song could make a miracle

for all of us.

A song of peace.

Sing a Song of Sixpence

Music Celebration and Winnipeg Music Festival

Click HERE to sing along with the music.

Sing a Song of Sixpence

Sing a song of six-pence a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty black birds baked in a pie,
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Wasn’t that a dainty dish to set before the King.

1. The King was in his counting house counting out his money.
2. The Queen was in the parlour eating bread and honey.
3. The maid was in the garden, hanging out the clothes,
All: When down came a black bird and pecked off her nose!

Sing a song of six-pence a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty black birds baked in a pie,
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Wasn’t that a dainty dish to set before the King.

When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Wasn’t that a dainty dish to set before the King.

May a Rainbow Run Beside You

May love and laughter light your days
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours
wherever you may roam.
May a rainbow run beside you in a sky
that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart each day,
And bless you your whole life through.

May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons bring the best
to you and yours!
May a rainbow run beside you in a sky
that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart each day,
And bless you your whole life through.

And may happiness fill your heart each day,
And bless you your whole life through.

Remembrance Day Song #2

We Can Make a Difference

Click HERE to play the accompaniment so you can sing along.

Here we are at the dawning of a new day.
Soon all of the future will be ours.
And we can do our part to make a better world
If we always keep on reaching for the stars!

If we try, you and I can make a diff’rence.
If we try, we can make our dreams come true.
And one day we can live to see a world
of peace and harmony.
Yes, we can make a diff’rence if we try.

Side by side, we can learn to work together.
Hand in hand, we can build a better day.
For what the future brings is up to you and me,
So let’s do our very best along the way.

If we try, you and I can make a diff’rence.
If we try, we can make our dreams come true.
And one day we can live to see a world
of peace and harmony.
Yes, we can make a diff’rence if we try.

Yes, we can make a diff’rence, you and I.

Remembrance Day Song #1

The Crestview Singers have been learning the following song for
the Remembrance Day Assembly. If you would like to sing along to

I Ask for One Day
by Jim Papoulis

I ask for one day
Where I don’t have to hear about pain or life that’s lost, I ask for day
Where whispers of hope are alive inside in my heart.
Where there is freedom, and justice, and judgment is gone. I ask for one day
Where I don’t have to hear about pain.

I ask for one day in my life
Where there is sunshine through the shadows; only one day in my life
Where the world is at peace as I sing.
Just one day.

I ask for one day
When I close my eyes and I see the hope in me, I ask for one day
Where war is a dream of the past, of long ago,
Where there is freedom, and justice, and judgment is gone. I ask for one day
Where I don’t have to hear about pain.

I ask for one day in my life…..
One day for only beauty
One day when we can open our hearts, one day where hope is endless
One day to be free.

Only one day in my life…..
I ask for one day        just one day.
